Mikel Arteta says Bukayo Saka and Takehiro Tomiyasu are both doubts for Arsenal’s trip to Manchester United on Sunday.
England winger Saka suffered a gash on his leg during the 3-0 win over Bournemouth last weekend and has trained with a bandage on it this week.
Tomiyasu was absent from a session at London Colney this week, instead working indoors, sparking fears he might not be fit for the game at Old Trafford.
“A few doubts that tomorrow we can resolve with another training session. So we’ll have to see,” Arteta told reporters of Arsenal’s latest team news on Friday.
Asked if those doubts meant Saka and Tomiyasu, Arteta added: “A few doubts over the names that you discussed, yes.”
Arsenal will hope to have the pair available against United and, if so, it would mean that Arteta is able to name the same starting XI for the fourth game in a row.
The Gunners are on a good run at the moment and must win their final two Premier League games of the season to keep up their hopes of winning the title.
Arsenal are currently top of the Premier League table and one point ahead of Manchester City, but Pep Guardiola’s side have a game in hand and travel to face Fulham on Saturday lunchtime.
Arteta could welcome back Jurrien Timber into the squad for Sunday’s game for the first time since August after he recovered from knee surgery but was not involved against Bournemouth despite a return to full training.
