Hot water bottles are sorely underrated. The ultimate cramp combatters, chill banishers and heartbreak healers, the furry companions are true gamer changers for those in need of some warming comfort.

However, one area hot water bottles don’t target is the feet. They will fill your torso with blissful warmth, but your paws remain exposed to the cold. No matter how many layers of fluffy socks you desperately yank on or pairs of slippers you wear out, nothing does the trick like a freshly filled hot water bottle.

Cue hot water bottles for feet. Yes, they are a thing.

As with a regular handheld hot water bottle, the fun footwear editions can be plied with boiling water and placed on the ground ready to receive your icy pads. More often than not, they come with separate foot compartments to house each of your soles in a den of warmth, helping to ease blood circulation, relax muscles and soothe aching arches.

We’re slightly ahead of the curb with this one, hence why there are not many options available to browse online. Yet as always, Amazon is paving the way for the handy (or should we say foot-y) household objects, followed by Debenhams, The Futon Company and Cancer Research.

With prices capping at around £20, the inexpensive foot insulators make for innovative gifts that tick all the boxes. Pick from a selection of pastel tones, animal prints and classic neutrals to suit yourself or a lucky recipient.
